Project

COMMO is a project financed by the European Commission – Erasmus+ KA1 Program which consists in the implementation of mobility exchanges for staff and university students to and from the Italian universities that make up the consortium of the same name, coordinated by UNIMED.

From its start in 2015 to today, the project has involved an ever-increasing number of partner countries and universities. The collaboration began with universities in the Western Balkans and gradually involved countries such as Kosovo, Tunisia, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Syria and Mauritania.

The general objectives set by the project are the following:
– Contribute to improving the international dimension of education and training;
– Support students and academic and technical-administrative staff in the acquisition of new knowledge and skills;
– Provide participants with a deeper understanding of the culture of the host country.

Specifically, the project contributes to implementing the internationalization and modernization strategy of the universities involved through the enrichment of academic curricula, the expansion of the network of contacts to consolidate already existing partnerships but also to create new collaboration opportunities, implement research, improve the quality of education through experimentation with new practices and learning methods, strengthen networking, increase the visibility of universities regionally and globally, expand bilateral agreements.

Furthermore, the flow of international students and staff has led the faculties and departments of the host universities to adapt and improve their procedures for welcoming participants.
